"Proper" Introductions

Hi, I am "Mom". : ) I am sure that didn't come as a surprise to any of you. I graduated from college with a degree in Elementary Education. From there I went on to the island of Guam to teach K-5. While I was teaching I met my husband who was stationed on Guam with the US Navy. We were married, and I moved to Bremerton, WA in 1994. We started our family as soon as possible, and ten months later our first son was born. We had a second son and moved to SC in 1997. We had an exciting trip across the US when we moved, and someday we hope to take a return cross-country trip...this time with nobody being potty trained! lol Our family now has 8 children. Their introductions are as follows....

"SEAL" is 16 yrs old now. He is finishing the last two weeks of his tenth grade year. He is a VERY hard worker and is pursuing his education with a vengeance. Why? He wants to attend the US Naval Academy with the eventual goal of being a NAVY SEAL. "SEAL" has his deputy black belt in Tae Kwon Do and helps to teach a TKD class at our church each week.

"NFL" is 15 yrs old, and he loves football! Last year was a relatively easy year last year, but he is heading into a much more demanding class load with tenth grade. "NFL" has a gift for being naturally athletic and is also a big tease.

"Horse Girl" is 11 years old, loves horses, and is very tenderhearted. She would like to be a veterinarian in the future. "Horse Girl" loves to read and is often found reading in her bed. Next year will be her last year in elementary school. Where has the time gone?

"Nurse" is almost 10 years old. She will be in the fifth grade next year. She would like to be a nurse when she gets older. When my dad was in the ICU the nurse taught her to take his blood pressure, and she learned quite a few other things.

"Spunky" is 7 years old and is going into the 2nd grade. "Spunky" loves math, and she thinks she hates reading. I have a plan of attack and hope to change her view of reading this summer. : ) "Spunky" is scaring me as she crawls across the top of our swing set right now. She definitely keeps her guardian angel (or angels) VERY busy!

"Gentleman" is 5 years old, and he will be an official kindergartener this next year. He loves to run ahead and open the door for me when we go places. "Gentleman" has not officially started school, but he can do the addition problems in his sister's Saxon 2 math book! He also appears to be VERY ready for reading. Next year should be a very exciting one in his life!

"Drama Queen" is 3 years old and appears to have lost the volume control on her remote control. She is very sweet and can be very demanding....we are working to change that one! "Drama Queen" loves "Mr. Chubby" more than anything else in the world.

"Mr. Chubby" is 8 months old and a wonderful baby. He is sitting up and crawling. He has four teeth and loves to use them. "Mr. Chubby" loves to snuggle, and eventually I will have to change his nickname here.

"Dad" is my husband of nearly seventeen years. He is currently a manager for Radio Shack. "Dad" is pursuing a Bible degree from Bob Jones University but is taking a break from classes for awhile.

Now that you have met the whole family you will have a little better understanding of my posts about our home education.
